Mary Breden recently completed an outpatient occupational therapy program.  Mary had suffered a stroke at the beginning of the year and although she had successfully completed rehabilitation from the physical affects of the stroke and was living independently she was still having difficulty with reading, finding words and math skills needed for daily functioning.  Areas that we often take for granted in our day to day life’s but present an obstacle when unable to easily perform as prior to her stroke.

Mary chose to receive occupational therapy to work on these skills through outpatient services here at Calhoun.  “Kara was a great help and has brought me a long way.  My reading is much better and the use of numbers, such as simple addition & subtraction, is so much easier or me now.” states Mary.
